Market status and good prospects of China's packaging aluminum foil industry in 2021

According to data released by the China Nonferrous Metal Processing Industry Association, my country's total aluminum foil output in 2019 was 4 million tons, of which the largest proportion is packaging aluminum foil, accounting for up to 50%, which is 2 million tons.

With the rapid development of the packaging industry, the packaging industry has become the largest consumer market for aluminum foil, and global aluminum foil consumption continues to hit new highs. According to the aluminum foil consumption structure summarized by the China Nonferrous Metal Processing Industry Association, my country's packaging aluminum foil consumption in 2019 is about 1.03 million tons, accounting for about 37% of the total aluminum foil consumption.

Prospect analysis of packaging aluminum foil industry:

As the country and society have stricter requirements on food safety and hygiene, and people’s awareness of environmental protection and resource conservation, aluminum foil lunch boxes, as green packaging materials, are becoming a new choice for the catering industry and food packaging. At the same time, despite the current downward pressure on the economy, the catering market still maintains a relatively high growth driven by mass catering. Especially in the context of greater population mobility, popularity of online shopping, faster pace of life, and young people gradually becoming the main consumers of the market, the fast-food and fast-consuming food markets have shown rapid growth. It is estimated that the sales volume of packaging aluminum foil in my country will reach 1.32 million tons in 2026.
